Dilemma 5

My dilemma this week is continuing to juggle everything that is going in my life especially since I just had a son last Monday. I have stay on top of my family, my apartment, work, school, and etc. But everything is going well. In the classroom, I am having a little difficulty knowing the limits of conversations with students. For example, when talking to students they ask me all sorts of questions and sometimes I refuse to answer some questions but, what if they tell me information about their personal life such as boyfriends, sexual life, partying, and etc. These middle school students are very inquisitive, curious, and have an undying desire to know everything and become fascinated by it. How do we as young new teachers deal with this because you want to keep that connection line open but, you must guard and protect the conversation and relationship?
